When a child with a disability turns 18, the parent often needs a guardianship. We will offer two seminars a year for these folks. It will be a workshop where they will learn how significant the disability must be to qualify for a guardianship, how to decide on a single guardian or co-guardian, and what responsibilities the guardian has. They will receive a workbook with fill-in-the-blank forms and instructions for how and when to file them, how and who to provide notice to, how to conduct themselves at the Hearing, and how and when to file the initial and annual reports. So, basically, it is a do-it-yourself workshop.
We will not have the workshop unless at least 5 people register and pay. It will be held here unless we get more than 10. It will be at least 5 hours. 1 pm - 6 pm
To attend, the child's birthday must be within 8 months of the workshop date. Virtual attendance is not yet available.
